COMPELLING

At The Bush School, Melissa and Dana collaborated on English classes, led conversations on the teaching of writing, and co-taught experiential education classes like Learn to Row and Creative Writing in Nature on the Olympic Peninsula. The past two summers, we co-taught three week-long summer workshops for rising seniors on the college application essay at The Bush School. 

 

Enthusiastic facilitators and coaches, we engage closely with students in every stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to outlining and drafting, to revising. These conversations create a safe space in which students can tell their own stories honestly and compellingly. Our goal is to help students find the story that best represents who they are inside and outside the classroom.
